For starters, the MacBook Air draws attention from the looks. It is a jam-packed laptop with an elegant aluminum-glass frame that gives the Air its extra oomph. So tiny and fragile, these babies come in eleven and thirteen inch, respectively 2.3 and 2.9 pounds. The eleven inch MacBook Air, is approximately the size of a standard 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper, which is an incredible achievement with all the amazing features inside it. This is surely portable within you backpack, without overcrowding it or overweighing it.
What’s more to love, is the all classic Multi-Touch trackpad. Built into every current MacBook on the line. Here, gestures are supported like two-finger scrolling (my favorite), rotations, and dilations. Hand in hand go the physical features, the MacBook Air also has a very high-pixelated display which means more viewing pleasure for the videos, games, pictures, and things that are observed at great detail. A camera positioned at the center above the opening screen can be used for taking silly (or formal) snapshots of you, videos of yourself, iChatting with other Macs, or FaceTime with other iPhones, iTouches, and Macs. Yes, this may seem utopian.
Inside the MacBook Air, is an incredibly new and fast flash storage chip, allowing for even faster performance in opening files and applications, giving it a 200% faster rate than most regular laptop hard drivers. Inside of Mac OS X Snow Leopard, is a world of applications all for your daily use, including the trilogy set, iLife. iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand are the three applications that make up iLife, and maybe even your life! Sorry PCs.
iPhoto is an extremely powerful tool for editing photos, importing/exporting them, creating and sharing customized cards, calendars, and books, and for organizing photos by Faces, Places, and Events. The MacBook Air features a standard SD card slot along the side of its body, along with two other USB drive slots for instant Camera to computer sync. The iPhoto interface is gorgeous and easy to learn and navigate yourself, as you’ll want to try making books, or calendars for yourself or for great photo inspired gifts.
iMovie too, along with iPhoto is a quite self-explanatory application that is a five star app for beginners and fun for all levels! Creating your own homemade blockbusters has never been so exciting, fast, and enjoyable to watch in end results. With pre-loaded themes, animation effects, and sound effects, it is ideal for videos of projects, special occasions, and for random moments. Have a blast!
Music lovers, guitar and piano players, here is GarageBand! Here you may write your own music, learn instruments, and even simulate your perfect gig rehearsal, the way you always imagined it would look. Play around with special effects and instruments that might enhance your score, or just be fun to play with. And simulate the sound of real-sounding instruments as they appear to be right before your eyes.
So I think it’s safe to tell you now. Shhhh... Okay, the MacBook Air is the only notebook that is so small it’s portable, but so fast, it beats its sister MacBooks only by a matter of looks. MacBook Air is definitely Light on Weight, but packed with technology, and will revolutionize the things that a notebook can do.
Aren't you suppose to write about NYC, and not about mac book air
ReplyDeleteHi Jordan,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your in depth review of the new MacBook Air. I like how you described it as having "a revolutionized look". Although it is an amazing piece of technology, I prefer to have an iPad and a 27 inch iMac. Also, I love your blog logo.
