Summertime

This is a poem about how I feel on a typical summer, when you don't travel much for vacation and you are left around the house. The Persistence of Memory, by Salvador DalĂ, explains how I feel as if everything is melting. Click above on the title to view the painting, and enjoy the poem below! Please comment below!

Summertime,
The restless days of sunlight

Summertime,
School’s out from dawn to midnight

In the, Summertime -
You oughta get some shuteye

In the Summertime

Summertime,
Why do you come and go?

Summertime,
Tell me this - if it so

In the, Summertime
You’ve melted all the snow

In the Summertime

Summertime,
They say it’s just too hot

Summertime,
Do you really care or not?

In the, Summertime -
The old man sleeps on the cot

In the Summertime

Summertime,
The Sun just seem no fair

Summertime,
Shorts and tie dyes with a flare

In the, Summertime -
The rock dove’s aren’t scared

In the Summertime -

Also, here is the YouTube video, taken of Summertime - sung by Ella Fitzgerald that inspired me to write in these form of stanzas.
